Neeraj Chopra

Neeraj Chopra (born 1997) is an Indian track-and-field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. He is India's first Olympic champion in athletics.

Career

Born in Haryana, Chopra rose through junior competitions, setting a world junior record. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (held in 2021) he won the gold medal with a throw of 87.58 metres.

Achievements

He has also won the World Athletics Championship title and the Asian and Commonwealth Games gold medals, becoming one of the most decorated Indian athletes.
