Tea

Tea is an aromatic beverage made by pouring hot water over the cured or fresh leaves of the tea plant, Camellia sinensis. After water, it is the most widely consumed drink in the world.

Types

Common types include black, green, oolong and white tea, all from the same plant but processed differently. In India, spiced milk tea (chai) is especially popular.

Production

India, China, Kenya and Sri Lanka are among the largest tea producers. Regions such as Assam and Darjeeling are famous for their tea.
